Maskcara Makeup Tips & Tricks

I am BLOWN away by the response y’all have had to Maskcara Makeup! It has been such a blessing sharing ways to help you feel your best self, while also simplifying your makeup routine and having it all in one spot!

I will be sharing on the blog little tips and tricks to make your makeup application flawless! As always, I am available to answer any of your questions skincare/makeup related!

Here are some tips and tricks I have found helpful as I have used Maskcara products:

No makeup is going to look good if your skin isn’t properly taken care of first. Make sure that you are washing your face at night, moisturizing morning and night, and exfoliating 2-3 times per week. These are my favorite skincare essentials!

CURE Aqua Gel Exfoliator

Beautycounter Nourishing Cream Cleanser

Beautycounter Countermatch Adaptive Moisturizer

TIP: let your moisturizer soak in while you do your hair, then your face will be primed for application! Or just give your face at least 5-10 minutes to soak in your moisturizer.

A little goes a long way with these creams, you will be shocked how long they last you! Start application with a 1-2 light dabs of your brush in the cream, and apply. Build more coverage as needed, but start small! Stipple (or press) the brush into your face vs swiping the product over your face, You will have more even coverage!

Do you tend to have oily spots on your face? SET IT. The Vanilla Dust powder is what I recommend for ANYONE for undereyes and T-Zone management and a long lasting wear. Make sure you are PRESSING the powder onto your under eyes and t zone.

Like a more matte look? Set with Beautycounter’s Mattifying Powder and then apply your illuminator last.

SUPER oily? Spray your face with the Stay Spray first, apply your makeup, and then finish your makeup with another application of Stay Spray.

The beautiful thing about this makeup is that it gives your face dimension with the use of “HAC-ing” (Highlight and Contour) The contour always looks scary at first because you look like you have a tiger stripe on your face and oftentimes people tend to blend that in first TOO much. If you don’t have a tiger stripe on your face, you’re doing it wrong :)

Wait until you have applied all your makeup and blush before you blend it out to your liking, you want to make sure you still have that color contrast to define your face rather than over-blending and losing that definition. You can always add more contour if you over-blend!

Keep your brushes clean to rid of bacteria and for smoother application! Try to do it once a week. Use the Restore Spray to clean, or use a gentle face wash or shampoo. Don’t put the bristles upside down under the water, always keep them upright while cleaning so the water doesn’t breakdown the glue that holds the bristles together.

Is your makeup almost all used up and there is product in the edges of your tin? Simply pop out your tins and place them in a pan on low heat (not illuminators though!) the makeup will melt down and you can take out of the pan and let cool, pop back into your palette and it’s like new! You can use the remainder of your product more easily without wasting any in the corners of your tin.

That’s it for now! More tips and tricks to come. Are you interested in Maskcara makeup and want to be custom color matched? email me at kellychakerian@gmail.com or DM me on instagram at @mrschak and I will get back to you!
